A gated resort district built specifically for large international hotels, with a shared beachfront, its own security and landscaped grounds separating one property from the next. Predictable in the way a planned district is predictable, for better and for worse.

It is one of the more common choices for it: calm, reef-protected water, resorts built with children in mind, and a controlled environment. The trade-off is that it feels separate from the rest of Bali.
Nusa Dua is a fully enclosed resort district. Jimbaran is an open bay with its own town, seafood warungs on the sand, and a shorter drive to the airport.
Yes, by car or a short taxi ride, but there is little to walk to immediately outside most properties. Bualu, the town just past the gates, is the nearest independent area.
