Ubud

A few nights inland: villas with pools among rice fields, the Monkey Forest, and a break from the sea. Choose the south of town for space.

Practical

  • Airport transfer with car seats · On arrival — Car seats are not standard in Bali taxis. A pre-booked transfer is the only reliable way to get one.

  • Villas with a pool · Sanur and Nusa Dua — For a family, a two- or three-bedroom villa with a fenced pool often costs less than two hotel rooms.

05 / Questions

Frequently asked

Which part of Bali is best for families?

Sanur and Nusa Dua, for calm water behind the reef and short transfers. The west coast beaches have waves and currents that suit surfers more than small children.

Is Bali safe for children?

Yes, with the usual care about traffic, the sun and the sea. Roads have few pavements, so choose areas where you can walk safely: Sanur's beachfront path is the exception to most of the island.

How long should a family stay?

A week to ten days, split between one calm beach base and a few nights inland.
